JEWS, CHINA & HOLLYWOOD – Sunday Oct 23 – Our Youth Voices kickofff features a screening of “A Children’s Song,” a heartwarming film short based on the Jewish emigration to Shanghai. A panel and reception follows with acclaimed filmmaker Sid Ganis (Transformers 4) and others Janet Yang moderates.
Over 140 members and friends headed out to closing night Dream of the Red Chamber by award-winning playwrights Stan Lai and David Henry Hwang. Ticket buyers were treated to a private talk with Stan Lai on September 19th, moderated by Joan Chen. Guests were also treated to a “surprise” brief reception talk with composer Bright Sheng at the Opera House.
