The 1990 Institute has hosted annual two‐day summer professional development workshops on modern China since 2013. Our Teachers Workshops  aim to inspire, encourage, and enable U.S. middle and high school teachers to include modern China in their curriculum. Our afternoon sessions are designed to help teachers collaborate with fellow teachers to develop useful curriculum materials for their  classroom.

For our fifth annual workshop in 2017 focused on  “China’s Kaleidoscope” — an in‐depth social and cultural look at China’s institutions, values, and how people’s lives have changed after China joined the world economy a few decades following the Cultural Revolution.
