1990 Institute Teachers Workshop at the Asian Art Museum

The 1990 Institute held a well-attended mid-year Teachers Workshop event at the Asian Art Museum on February 8th. Caren Gutierrez, the Manager of School and Teacher Programs, presented the museum’s online resources for teachers. Former board member and 2013 workshop speaker, George Koo, then gave an update on China in the six months since the workshop. Several teachers also shared how they are using the materials from the workshop in their classrooms. It was gratifying to see the workshop making a difference in the classroom and how China is taught in schools. The event ended with an informative private docent-led tour of the China galleries.
