Anthony Hsu has been a 1990 Institute Director since 2013.  He is also the CEO of ORANOS Group, the parent company of Maxville Winery, KKN Corp, TSG Corp  & Oranos group asset management in the Bay Area.

Before Oranos, he was a private equity executive and an entrepreneur. While in private equity, Anthony was instrumental in co-founding several companies including Axlen, Inc. in the Silicon Valley. Prior to Axlen and Oranos group, Anthony spent over 30 years in international finance and creating business ventures. He has successfully built the company he founded from $400,000 in annualized sales to a multi million dollar enterprise between 1990 to 2000. A consummate business executive and results oriented leader with extensive experience in joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions. Excellent abilities in building and managing teams with proven track records of consistently exceeding sales and profits by successfully leading and managing change. Expert knowledge of cross cultural and business practices. Noted for establishing his partnership with CLOROX, KINSFORD Brands and Pharmacaps, Inc., negotiated and closed over 800 million dollars in commodity contracts/trade agreements with Chicago Board of Trade, Cargill, ConAgra, ICEC and Interchem. Structured multi million debt and equity financing transactions in the public and private sectors and cross border acquisitions with U.S. based financial institutions. 

A lifetime advocate of the importance of quality education, human development and quality of life in third world nations, Anthony has been active in non-profit charitable foundations and institutes.  Anthony was winner of Exporter of the Year award from World Trade Month, 1993 and World Trade Association recognition between 1995-1997 (3 years in a row). 

Currently serving as a board member of the 1990 institute in San Francisco, Axlen, Inc., and Oranos Group, Anthony is a graduate from Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. He is proficient in two languages and two regional Chinese dialects.
