Dennis Zhang is currently a Managing Director and head of Asia investment banking at Raymond James, a leading U.S. based investment bank. He is based in San Francisco but spends half of his time in Asia. Prior to joining Raymond James, Mr. Zhang spent eight years in Stifel’s Investment Banking division, last serving as a director and head of the firm’s China coverage practice focusing primarily on IPOs of Chinese companies in the U.S. and cross-border M&A transactions between China and the U.S. Dennis has a bachelor’s degree in English from Beijing Foreign Studies University, a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University, and an MBA from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and English. Outside of work, Dennis is passionate about opera and spends much of his free time enjoying opera and volunteering for the art. He currently sits on the board of Merola Opera, the world  renowned young artist program affiliated with San Francisco Opera. He also serves on the board of Asian Performing Arts Council (APAC), a U.S. based non-profit organization that has been fostering cultural exchange since 1986 between the United States and Asia, particularly China. APAC is particularly known for its iSING! Festival, a summer opera training program that brings 40 young artists from all over the world to China for intensive opera and language training, coaching and performances. The group performed at the China’s CCTV 2018 Chinese New Year Gala to critical acclaim.
